About J. Kay Gordon
Kay moved to North Carolina in 1995. She and her husband built a house and studio on a high meadow with a commanding view of the surrounding mountains. Inspiration for much of her artwork has come from their farm, the people and festivals of the local communities, and the mountain roads and trails that she loves to explore.
She has traveled extensively in the United States and Europe. After moving from the farm, she is still living in Western North Carolina, but has spent much of her time in coastal Maine and on an island off the coast of Georgia. These venues provide endless resources for her paintings.
In addition to original pastels and watercolors, Kay offers archival quality giclee prints of all of her artwork.
Kay’s paintings have won many prestigious awards in local, state, national and international shows. Awards are listed with the individual paintings on this website.
