A good friend and I were in Raleigh for an art show opening on the same day that there was a motorcycle rally downtown.  We couldn’t miss the opportunity, so headed there with our cameras.  With all that chrome…I thought it would be interesting to catch the reflections of the (blue) cycle sitting next to the chrome!  When I started the painting, I thought that there would be only four or five reflections.  But as I painted, I realized that “blue” was everywhere…even if only a haze or stripe!

Here’s what the judge for the Artist Magazine Competition said about this painting… “…a tour de force of technical skill.  The reflections on the circular silver metal, contrasted with the dark, angular shapes, produce a feast for the eyes.  If one squints while looking at the painting, the masterly design of abstract shapes is apparent.”  Daniel E. Greene
